Refund policy

Returns & Refunds Policy

TMC Motorsport is a trading name of Jordan Automotive Limited (company number NI627833), registered in Northern Ireland. We want returns to be clear and straightforward. This policy explains cancellation rights, optional extended returns, refunds and return costs. Nothing in this policy limits statutory consumer rights.

1. Start a Return

Use our Returns Hub or email info@tmcmotorsport.com with your order number and the item(s) concerned.

For processing returned goods, please download our Customer Returns Form (PDF), complete it and include it with your parcel where practical. This returns paperwork is not a condition of exercising a valid statutory cancellation: you may notify us by email or any other clear statement.

We recommend obtaining a returns reference, following any reasonable return instructions and enclosing your order details. An RMA number or our approval is not required for a valid statutory cancellation notice.

2. Cancelling Before Dispatch

Orders may enter processing or supplier fulfilment promptly. Please contact us as soon as possible if you wish to cancel. We will try to stop dispatch, but cannot guarantee that an order has not already shipped. Your statutory rights are unaffected.

Eligible consumer cancellations: No restocking, administration, card-processing, PayPal or payment-gateway charge will be deducted from a refund required by law.

Discretionary cancellations: If the order is outside statutory cancellation rights, such as certain genuinely bespoke products, we may agree to cancel on fair terms. Subject to applicable law and the terms agreed, any deduction must reflect reasonable, documented and unavoidable losses. These may include non-refundable third-party processing or supplier cancellation charges. We do not impose a separate percentage-based administration or staffing fee, and we do not recover the same loss twice.

A supplier-order or delayed product is not automatically exempt from consumer cancellation rights merely because it was not stocked or has entered production.

3. Statutory Cancellation Rights

Consumers buying eligible goods at a distance generally have 14 days after receipt to notify us of cancellation without giving a reason. For an order delivered in separate instalments, the relevant cancellation period may run from delivery of the final item under applicable rules. The right may be exercised before dispatch.

After notifying us, return the goods without undue delay and within 14 days. A valid notice can be sent through our Returns Hub, by email, by post or through another clear statement. Statutory cancellation is not conditional on our advance approval.

We refund the amounts required by law, including our least expensive generally available standard outbound delivery charge where applicable. The customer may have to pay the direct return postage cost if this was properly disclosed before purchase. Lawful deductions may apply for a demonstrable reduction in value caused by handling beyond what is necessary to inspect the goods.

No cancellation, restocking, refund administration or payment-processing fee applies to the valid exercise of statutory consumer rights.

4. Optional 30-Day Extended Returns

In addition to statutory rights, we offer an optional return arrangement for eligible unwanted products requested within 30 days after delivery. This applies only where the statutory cancellation window has expired and the customer is not otherwise entitled to a statutory remedy.

Acceptance must be confirmed by us in writing before the return is sent. Goods must be unused, unfitted, undamaged, complete with all supplied accessories and documentation, in original packaging and in a condition suitable for resale. Please dispatch an approved return within 14 days of acceptance unless we agree otherwise.

We may decline optional extended returns of genuinely bespoke goods, items subject to non-recoverable special-supply arrangements, installed or programmed electronics, or items otherwise unsuitable for resale. These exclusions do not affect legal rights.

5. Restocking Charges and Product Condition

Optional returns only: Accepted returns under our additional 30-day arrangement may be subject to a deduction of up to 20% of the returned goods' purchase price. This is a ceiling, not an automatic fee. We will tell you the proposed amount before acceptance; it must be fair, proportionate and supported by genuine costs or losses associated with granting the additional return. There is no separate automatic payment-gateway or staffing percentage charged on top.

Statutory returns: There is no restocking fee. A deduction may be made where legally permitted for actual loss in value caused by handling beyond what is necessary to establish the goods' nature, characteristics and functioning. Opening the packaging alone does not automatically remove cancellation rights.

Items fitted, programmed, modified, painted, damaged or returned incomplete may require assessment. Any lawful loss-in-value deduction is determined individually and is not a preset penalty. Genuine defects and misdescription are handled under statutory remedies, not change-of-mind fees.

Tuning boxes, Powerpedal products and other electronics have the same consumer protections as other eligible products. We do not automatically charge a testing, reprogramming or £30 + VAT return fee for statutory cancellations.

6. Special Orders and Bespoke Goods

Goods genuinely made to the consumer's specifications or clearly personalised may be exempt from statutory change-of-mind cancellation where the relevant law permits. We will identify applicable exemptions before purchase.

Ordering an item from a supplier, a long lead time, or production beginning after purchase does not on its own make the product legally exempt. Rights concerning faulty, damaged or misdescribed goods are unaffected.

7. Faulty, Incorrect or Damaged Goods; Warranties

Tell us as soon as reasonably possible if goods arrive damaged, incomplete or incorrect, or develop a fault. We may ask for the order details, relevant photographs and information required to investigate. We recommend reporting visible transit damage within 48 hours so we can contact the carrier promptly; this is not a deadline for statutory claims.

Where goods do not conform to the contract, applicable law may provide rights to reject, repair, replacement, price reduction or refund. We will cover reasonable return costs where legally required. Please contact us before arranging costly specialist or international return carriage.

Manufacturer warranties vary by product. They do not replace statutory rights against the retailer. Where installation is relevant, we may reasonably request technical or vehicle information without presuming that the product or installer caused the problem.

8. Return Postage and Delivery Charges

Change-of-mind returns: For qualifying change-of-mind returns, customers are responsible for the direct cost of returning goods where this obligation was disclosed before purchase and applicable law permits. You may arrange return carriage yourself or choose a prepaid return label provided by us.

UK prepaid return labels: For returns from within the United Kingdom, a prepaid return label is available for eligible parcels weighing up to 10 kg with maximum dimensions of 60 × 50 × 50 cm. The label costs £6.60 including VAT. If you choose to use our label, and the deduction is legally permitted, £6.60 will be deducted from your refund.

Larger or heavier items: For parcels weighing over 10 kg or exceeding 60 × 50 × 50 cm, please arrange return carriage using a courier of your choice. Alternatively, contact us and our team can arrange a return label where available. We will confirm the cost before you agree to use it, and the agreed amount may be deducted from your refund where legally permitted. For bulky goods that cannot normally be returned by post, applicable pre-contract information will set out the return cost or estimate where required by law.

Faulty, damaged or incorrect goods: No return label charge will be deducted where goods are faulty, damaged on arrival, incorrect or returned for another reason for which we are legally responsible. In these cases, we will cover reasonable return costs as required by law. Please contact us before arranging a costly specialist or international return so we can agree a suitable method.

Safe shipping: Use secure packaging, retain proof of dispatch and consider tracked and insured transport for valuable items.

Original delivery charges: For a full eligible statutory cancellation, standard outbound delivery will be refunded as required by law. Premium delivery charges above our least expensive generally available standard service may be excluded where legally permitted. Original outbound delivery is not normally refunded under our separate voluntary 30-day arrangement.

Refused or uncollected deliveries: If a parcel is refused, uncollected or returned because of inaccurate delivery details, any additional carrier costs will be assessed individually under applicable legal and contractual rules. Valid statutory refunds will not be subject to unlawful automatic deductions.

9. Refund Method and Timescales

Statutory cancellation refunds are processed without undue delay and within the legal deadlines. For qualifying returns of goods where we have not offered to collect them, reimbursement is due no later than 14 days after we receive the goods back or satisfactory evidence they were sent back, whichever is earlier, subject to any earlier requirement under applicable law.

Refunds normally go to the original payment method unless an alternative is expressly agreed and legally permitted. We cannot substitute a credit note for a statutory monetary refund without the customer's qualifying agreement.

We aim to process approved voluntary returns within 3-5 working days of receipt and inspection. This operational target does not extend mandatory deadlines. Payment providers may need additional time to display completed refunds.

10. European and International Returns

We sell to customers in the UK, EU and other countries. Mandatory consumer rights that apply to a transaction take precedence over any conflicting provision in this policy.

Eligible EU distance purchases generally have a 14-day withdrawal right and statutory remedies for non-conforming goods under applicable EU and national law. Relevant local laws may provide additional protection, including legal guarantee periods.

Where lawfully disclosed, the customer normally pays direct international change-of-mind return shipping costs. Please ask us for customs and returns instructions before sending goods across borders. Taxes or duties paid to customs authorities or other parties may require separate reclaim procedures. TMC Motorsport will refund amounts collected by it where required by law.

11. Business and Trade Purchases

Genuine business-to-business purchases may be subject to separately agreed terms. Business purchasers do not automatically have the consumer's distance-selling change-of-mind rights.

Discretionary trade cancellations and returns require our agreement. Where expressly incorporated into the relevant trade terms, an accepted trade return may be subject to a 20% restocking charge and other reasonable, separately agreed, documented costs. Charges will not duplicate the same loss. Statutory and contractual remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded remain unaffected.

12. Exchanges, Used and Clearance Products

Exchanges for unwanted items may be offered subject to eligibility and availability. We may ask customers to return the original item and place a new order. Faulty goods are dealt with under statutory repair, replacement and refund rights.

Used, refurbished and clearance products remain subject to applicable statutory rights. A known defect should be disclosed before purchase. Our optional extended returns arrangement may exclude such items, but cannot remove mandatory cancellation or fault remedies.

13. Complaints and Alternative Dispute Resolution

Please contact info@tmcmotorsport.com if you are dissatisfied with a product, return decision or service. We will review the information and aim to resolve the matter directly.

Where any alternative dispute resolution or other complaint resolution arrangement is available to a customer because TMC Motorsport is required to participate under applicable legislation or an agreement, we will provide details of that arrangement when communicating the outcome of the complaint, as required by law.

This paragraph does not itself establish membership of an ADR scheme or commit TMC Motorsport to a particular provider. Customers retain any legal rights to seek further remedies.
