TMC Motorsport can remove the DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter) software from most ECU's. DPF's (bassically soot collectors) were fitted to most modern diesel vehicles since around 2005 to try to reduce emissions by collecting soot in city driving and releasing it on the motorway out of the city however the units have proved unreliable and very expensive to replace (up to £3000) especially on older cars.
This has lead to many people having them removed from the car but this will cause the engine warning light to stay on and the car may run in safe mode as the vehicle computer cannot detect the DPF and thinks there is a fault. We can remove the DPF program from the computer allowing the vehicle to run normally without any warning lights or fault codes, also because the DPF is cleaned or regenerated by extreme heat due to extra diesel being injected, by removing it you will see an improvement in fuel economy of up to 25%. TMC can also arrange the removal of the DPF unit and replacement with a straight exhaust pipe section, we have workshops around UK & Ireland and Worldwide.
